Where our youngest learners are building skills to learn how to read, our intermediate students continue to develop their reading reading skills to broaden their understanding of literature, science, sociology, technology and many other concepts.

Across all measures, Kindergarten students show clear and meaningful growth from the Beginning to the Middle of the Year. Data, used alongside classroom observations and engagement indicators, demonstrates that students are developing strong foundations for reading strategically, confidently, and with greater enjoyment.

Our Next Steps

Surrey Schools

Formed in 1906, the Surrey School District currently has the largest student enrolment in British Columbia and is one of the few growing districts in the province. It is governed by a publicly elected board of seven trustees.

The district serves the cities of Surrey and White Rock and the rural area of Barnston Island.
