Transforming Learning through Formative Assessment Practices

Surrey educator Sharon Lau reflects on two critical moments from her teaching career and how she was inspired to reassess her instructional strategies.

“As a teacher I have a responsibility to move their learning forward, and my practice is informed by three questions: ‘Where am I going?’ ‘Where am I now?’ and ‘How do I get there?’ To me, it’s about being able to students clearly what the learning intentions are because if I can’t explain to myself and my colleagues, then how are my students going to pick it up?” – Sharon Lau
